Baleh Hydropower Project in Malaysia Approaches Completion

The Baleh Hydropower project in Sarawak, Malaysia is in final stages of construction, with initial water impoundment recently completed. The 1.3 GW facility is on track to achieve commercial operation in late 2026, adding significant clean electricity capacity to the Sarawak grid. Project execution has demonstrated POWERCHINA's capability to deliver world-class hydropower infrastructure on schedule and within budget. Fish passage systems and environmental mitigation measures have been successfully implemented.
