Saudi Arabia has reached 5 GW of operational solar photovoltaic capacity across its National Renewable Energy Program, surpassing initial milestones three years ahead of schedule. The rapid deployment includes utility-scale projects, industrial solar installations, and distributed rooftop systems across the Kingdom. Strong capacity factors in Saudi Arabia's desert regions have enabled solar projects to achieve some of the lowest levelized costs globally. The Kingdom continues to expand solar deployment as part of its Vision 2030 diversification strategy and plans to deploy additional 20 GW by 2030.
