Vermont Renewable Gas LLC, an affiliate of Clean Energy Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: CETY), is advancing its VRG-Lyndon facility toward construction after reaching an agreement with the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets and securing a $1 million USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant. The facility will use Clean Energy Technologies' HTAP high-temperature ablative pyrolysis reactor to convert forestry and organic waste into renewable electricity, biochar and fuel gas under anaerobic conditions. The plant is designed to produce more than 18,000 megawatt-hours of electricity and roughly 1,500 tons of biochar per year, with commissioning targeted within 12 months of construction. The project reflects growing interest in small-scale, distributed waste-to-energy systems that pair renewable power generation with soil-enhancing biochar co-products.
